Reva Pounders, age 91, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1956, went peacefully home to be with her LORD Jesus on Monday, July 27, 2015. She is survived by her children, James and wife, Karen, Judy, Billy Ray, Kenneth and wife, Kathy, and Richard and wife, Sally; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Reva was the last survivor of eleven children and was preceded in death by all of them; her husband, Woodrow W. Pounders in 2001; a grandson, Michael; and her parents, Arvin and Thelma Carrington. She was born in 1923 in Lincoln County, AR and grew up in a two room shack. Reva started at an early age picking cotton and at the age of 15 married Woodrow, who proposed to her in the Navajo language. They moved to Houck, AZ around 1939 to run a trading post. Her life centered around her family and the proper upbringing of her children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit FRENCH - Wyoming on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
