Retired Col. Richard M. Corbett passed away Sunday morning on March 6, 2016.
Born April 29, 1926 in Vinton, Iowa to Luverne and Wilhelmina Corbett. "Dick" served 25 years in the Air Force as a test pilot. He was a fighter pilot in Vietnam and retired from the service in 1975. He was a member of the Experimental Test Pilots Association. Following his Air Force Retirement he worked for BDM.
He is survived by his brother, Dr. Oran Corbett; daughter, Gayle Chaney; son, Steven Corbett; step-daughters, Pamela Penick and Shelly Johnson; step-son, Perry Penick; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Corbett in 1976; his second wife, Patricia Corbett in 2014; his brother, Ben Corbett; and sister, Evelyn Dunston. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas followed by a Reception in the FRENCH - Lomas Reception Hall.
