Restie A. Sandoval
April 7, 1929 — June 24, 2016
Restie A. Sandoval, beloved husband, grandfather, brother and nino, was called home by his Maker on June 24, 2016 after a long illness. Restie is survived by his daughter, Cecilia (Kiki) Sandoval; six grandsons, Eric and Paul Madrid, Noah Trujillo, Art Questas, and Daniel and Scott Sandoval; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and 17 Godchildren. Restie was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Annie P. Sandoval; his parents, Bernardita and Restietuto Sandoval; and his sisters, Helen Sandoval and Paula DeLong.
Restie was known for his "cowboy" lifestyle and love of his wife, family and the greatest love for Cabezon, NM where he was born and raised. Restie was a cattle rancher his entire life in the Cabezon community and retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers to give his fulltime devotion to his beloved Cabezon. His devotion to his family and his God were paramount to his way of life. Restie was born April 7, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows where he enjoyed singing in the Spanish Choir for over 40 years.
Rosary will be recited Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 301 S. Camino Del Pueblo in Bernalillo. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 30, 2016, 10:00 a.m., also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment and a reception will follow. The family would like to thank Restie's caregiver, Diana Ruiz, for her ongoing care during his illness.
