Remo Giannini, 84, well-loved native of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at his home on April 21, 2015. Remo was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Melchor; sister, Natalyn Kapnison-Giannini; and daughter, Rema Giannini. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sanita Marie; daughter, Connie Baker; grandchildren, Heather Baker, husband Stuart Griffiths, Michael Harrison, Joseph Harrison, wife Dyana, Ivy Mueller, husband Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Noah and Owen. Remo served in the US Marine Corps and was a proud Veteran of the Korean War, one of the "Chosin Few," and earned many honors including a Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was Department Commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart from 1984 to 2001. He was a talented local architect leaving his professional and architectural legacy all over the country. Remo was a gifted storyteller with an extraordinary sense of humor. He was kind, generous, intelligent, and will be missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University followed by Interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
