He is survived by his son, David; two grandchildren, Matthew and Madison; David’s fiancé, Kim and her daughters, Dallas and Rylee.

He entered the Air Force in 1959, graduated from Navigation School in 1960 and Electronic Warfare School in 1961. Lee completed his college education during his military service and is an alumnus of the University of Nebraska. He met his future wife, Leslie, when he was attending Electronic Warfare School at Keesler AFB, MS. They were married in Hialeah, FL in October 1961. And Leslie accompanied him during his many Air Force assignments throughout the country and overseas. Lee flew B-52 combat missions in Vietnam (Southeast Asia). The family settled in Albuquerque, NM in 1980 where Lee conducted testing of Air Force tactics and equipment for the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) at Kirtland, AFB, NM. Their son attended and graduated from the University of New Mexico. Lee retired from the Air Force in 1985 as a Lieutenant Colonel after 26 years of service to his country. He carried his military experience into the business world with TRW supporting testing for AFOTEC and other services. He retired from TRW in 2001. Lee was an avid golfer, enjoyed other sports such as fast-pitch softball, soccer, and coached Pee-Wee Football. He loved to travel and spend time with friends; friends that spanned his entire lifetime - high school, military and retirement. Lee attended St. Johns United Methodist Church since 1988. Lt. Col Honeycutt’s most remarkable trait appeared during his total effort as sole care giver for his wife, Leslie as she struggled with a series of medical issues. Others watched with great admiration of the complete dedication to duty as care giver that continued year after year.
