Regina Rose (Zentner) McGuire died April 14, 2022, after a short battle with lymphoma.
Cremation was provided by French Funerals & Cremations, and services will be held at the Carlisle Plaza clubhouse, April 30, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park next to her husband, Joe.
Regina was born June 6, 1937, to Anna Marie Scharosch and John K. Zentner in Mott, ND. She attended Mott Lincoln High School and worked at the Playhouse and Blue Moon Café while in Mott. Gina, as she was called by family and friends, moved to California for a short time and then traveled to Albuquerque, NM, where she worked at the Coffee Cup Café. While working there she met a trucker, Joe McGuire, the love of her life. They married in 1964 in Mexico. Joe worked as manager of the Carlisle Plaza-a 55 senior mobile home park-where they resided, with Regina as his assistant.
After Joe died in 2002, Regina assumed the manager position, alongside owner, Jay Marten, until her death. During their marriage, Regina and Joe collected arrowheads and Native American arts and crafts. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, and baking. Regina was respected and loved by the residents as someone who resolved issues in the court and as a caring, nurturing "mother hen." Under her watchful eye she would take residents to appointments, sit with them until they were taken care of or until family arrived, check in on them to see if they needed anything, and visit if they wanted company or were ill. Along with being a very capable, caring overseer, Regina organized their monthly Bingo Potlucks, always cooking or baking a generous amount, and she added the seasonal ambiance to make it festive.
Although Regina did not travel much, if you visited or stayed with her, you were treated like royalty. She opened her heart and home to you.
Regina was preceded in death by her mother Anna Marie and father John K. Zentner, brothers Victor Zentner (Darlene) and Otto (Wally) Zentner (Enid), half-brother William Forsch, stepbrother Alfred Laud (Kathy), sister Mary Stoltz (Erv), and half-sisters Elsie (Forsch) Badger and Eileen (Forsch) Welsh.
She is survived by her sister Viviane Gallagher (Larry - deceased), half-sister Beverly Koller (Mike), stepsisters Helen Jean Smith (Ed - deceased) and Lorraine Ullery (Harold - deceased), brother Robert Zentner (Darlene), half-brother David Zentner (Mary), stepbrother Irvin Laub (Dorothy - deceased), step-grandchild Joseph, step-daughter-in-law Pat, and loyal, caring friend Jay Marten.
