PATTERSON, REFUGIO "CUCA"
Age 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 29, 2012 with her family by her side. She was fondly known as Buela. She moved to Albuquerque 26 years ago from the small farming community of La Union, N.M. Mrs. Patterson became a widow in 1953 at the age of 29 years old and never remarried. She was self-educated and inspite of those odds raised 4 children on her own with tremendous strength, energy, drive and love. Mrs. Patterson had a special love for children. Mrs. Patterson volunteered for over 20 years at Los Volcanes Senior Center and was recognized by the mayor for her outstanding service. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughters, Candelaria "Candy" Patterson and husband, Frank Comfort and Consuelo Jimenez and husband, Gustavo; granddaughter, Evangelina Patterson-Kreosoach and husband, Bryan; and grandsons, Mario Patterson and Adrian Patterson-Comfort. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Norman Patterson, son Jesus Patterson, and her youngest son, Juan Patterson. Rosary will be recited with Ernestine Morales, reciting Sunday, December 9, 2012, 4:00 p.m. followed by services at FRENCH, 9300 Golf Course Rd NW. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso, TX where she will join her husband, Joe Norman Patterson and her youngest son, Juan Patterson.
