Rebecca Sickenger

Rebecca Sickenger, 57, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, left our world for a better place on July 10, 2018. She was born December 16, 1960 in Albuquerque, NM, to Wilbur and Rosie Miles. She is survived by her husband of 28 years Ken Sickenger; daughter, Andrea Sickenger; son, Ryan Sickenger; daughter-in-law, Alexis Sickenger and granddaughters, Piper and Hannah Sickenger.

Rebecca touched many lives as a longtime teacher in Albuquerque. She taught kindergarten at Petroglyph Elementary and Helen Cordero Primary School and finished her APS career as an instructional coach. Since retiring in 2017, Rebecca taught English to Chinese students online. She also taught in Santa Fe, Espanola and Camp Verde, Ariz.

Rebecca loved to travel, ski, spend time outdoors and most of all loved her family. She was a bright light to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She attended Queen of Heaven School, Del Norte High School and earned bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of New Mexico.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Church, 900 Southern Blvd SE in Rio Rancho. A lunch reception will follow at the same venue.
