Rebecca Ann Kruse

Rebecca Ann Kruse died May 23, 2018 in Albuquerque, New Mexico with family by her side. She lived with Type 1 diabetes for 61 years and succumbed to its complications at age 69.

Becky was raised in Mt. Angel, Oregon where she attended both Mt. Angel Academy and John F. Kennedy High School. Legend has it that she was not popular in her class because grades were given on a curve and her high grades ruined it for the rest of the class. After graduation, Becky attended the University of Oregon Medical School Radiologic Technology Program in Portland and continued a long and rewarding career. Becky’s reputation was well known throughout the technologist community for her many contributions and dedicated service to the profession she loved. Throughout her career, Becky served as trustee of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists Educational Foundation, Board member and President of the ASRT and several terms as an officer of the Oregon Society. In 1994 she became an employee of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and continued to passionately serve the profession before retiring in 2007. In her leisure time, Becky enjoyed her dogs, especially Melody, Gracie and Comet, watching football (seriously cheered for the Seattle Seahawks), and collecting Native American art. Becky will be remembered as a passionate, fun-loving spirit whose caring attitude, camaraderie and friendship were enjoyed by the many lives she touched.

Becky was predeceased by her parents Walter and Marilyn, and her sister Karen. She is survived by her sisters, Janesa (Marian) and Joan (Barbee) Kruse, as well her nephews, Arrow and Colin and great nephews, Tate, Odin, Alder and Kai Kruse. Family and friends are invited to reminisce and celebrate her life on Friday, June 15, 2018, 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. She will be laid to rest Saturday, June 30, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Angel, Oregon.
