Reba Joyce Martinez of Greenville South Carolina passed away April 27, 2018 after a long battle with illnesses and many trials in her life including the most recent loss of her husband, Jerry Martinez of 60 years in March of 2014 who was a Korean War veteran. With a great passion for life, faith, and family, Reba was a strong wife, mother, and friend to many who was always concerned for everyone’s wellbeing and very proud of her family.
Her grace, humility, sassiness, and sense of humor, generosity, and southern charm radiated in everything she did, her cooking, her confidence, how welcoming she always was, and in conversations she had. Reba had a kind loving heart who always wanted to help anyone and everyone she could.
As a distinguished part of the community in Gallup and Albuquerque, this smart classy lady influenced and helped many people not only in her career but also her personal life between her family, volunteer work, coaching and friendships. Reba retired in 2000 as a Paralegal/legal secretary from Rodey Law firm in Albuquerque. She loved the Cowboys, playing tennis, softball, cards, pinochle, cribbage, bingo, piano, backgammon and bowling in her spare time. Reba had a passion for playing music all her life and listening to her favorite artist Elvis Presley.
Our beloved Reba was a mother, of six; grandmother, of 10; great-grandmother, of 17; mentor and friend of many. Reba is survived by her daughters, Sherry Lynn Montoya and Pat Martinez; granddaughters, Rebagayle Vialpando, Raven Garcia, Shawna Moore; grandsons, Kristen Tafoya, Michael Paul Montoya, Moses Sarracino III, BJ Sarracino, Brian Sarracino, Daniel Martinez and Jerry Martinez.
