Raymond Simmons

Raymond J. Simmons, age 71, a resident of Albuquerque, died October 29, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Alice Simmons; children, Sylvia "Squirt" Gallegos, Gail "Half-pint" Simmons, Michelle Marquez, Rocky Clark, and Wade Clark; mother, Irene Simmons; brother, Richard Simmons; sisters, Wanda Oloman, Rose Pfleger and Mary Ann Huntman; eight grandchildren, Sonya Gallegos, Raymond Gallegos, Gabriella Gallegos, Tanner Walton, Candice "Little Britches" Clark, Rebecca Clark, Amanda Clark, and Garrett Clark; and three great-grandchildren, Nicolas Cordova, Kylie Cordova, and Gabriella Hernandez. Ray came to Albuquerque in 1959 from Deer Creek, IL. He served in the U.S. Army. He was past Master of Temple Lodge 6 of Albuquerque and a member of Ballut Abyad Motor Patrol. Mr. Simmons worked as an insurance adjuster, owned his own body shop, and was also a truck driver in 48 states. After retirement, he went to work at Wal-Mart in Los Lunas where he worked as a door greeter until retiring from there as well. Friends may visit Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012, 1:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
