Raymond Joseph Mitnik, 99, of Albuquerque, NM, died peacefully November 9, 2018. He was born March 22, 1919 in Buffalo, NY to parents, Eli Mitnik and Besie Mitnik (Lepp). Ray was a U.S. veteran serving in WWII. He started out as a cooper in Lawrenceburg, IN then later moved to New York where he built apartment buildings in the post war building boom as a partner in BRM Realty. The least lazy of men, and loving building, he bought, remodeled, and sold homes in his retirement. Ray also loved to ski and play tennis. Kind and generous beyond measure, he was respected and loved by those with whom he worked as well as by his family and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Janet Blanche Mitnik (Goldman); his daughter, Stacie; and his granddaughter, Cara Bessie. He is survived by his sons, Michael and wife, Wanda and Daniel and wife, Barbara; his grandchildren, David, Max, Zachary, Ethan, and Lindsay. He is also survived by his second wife, Anne Korey Mitnik and her children, Ken, Ellen and Richard.
Donations in his memory may be made to The Jewish Federation of North America, 25 Broadway, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10004, or to a charity of your choice.
Ray will be sorely missed. May his memory be a blessing.
