Beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, age 94, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, November 11, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Catalina; her seven siblings; and her cherished husband of 54 years, Eloy.
Born on October 30, 1930, in Reserve, New Mexico, Ramona later moved to Belen, New Mexico, and eventually to Albuquerque, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her four sons: John, Leonard (Paula), Phillip (Jacque), and Alan (Darcy). She is also lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren: Seth (Whitney), Elle, Paige (Brandon), Noah, Michael, Andrea, and Joseph, as well as her three great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Cam, and Brighton.
A devoted homemaker and public servant, Ramona retired from a distinguished career in federal government service in the early 1990s. She was a faithful member of the San Martin de Porres Parish before later becoming actively involved with St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church.
Ramona was known for her warm, infectious laugh, often accompanied by a celebratory "love tap." Her kindness, generosity, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:15 a.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico 87114, with a reception afterward at the St. Jude Parish Hall. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Eloy, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
