Ramon (Ray) Rivera

Ramon (Ray) Rivera was born to Rose and Matthew Rivera, September 20, 1936 in New York City, NY. Ramon was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred, Victor, Rudolph, and Matthew. He is survived by his wife, Norma Rivera; and his two sons, Ron of Albuquerque, NM, and Dennis (Karen) of Rio Rancho, NM.

After graduating from Bethlehem High School in Bethlehem, PA, Ray joined the Air Force. His first duty station was in Lockport, NY, where he met and married Norma Martin.

Ray's career as a Radar Tech took him to different bases, mostly on the east coast of the United States. He was stationed at McGuire AFB, NJ, and also Goose Bay Labrador, Newfoundland, and Tyndall AFB, Panama City, FL. He also served overseas in Spain, Germany, and Thailand. Ray was an Air Force Recruiter for 4 years, as well. He retired the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After retiring from the United States Air Force in 1980, he worked as a dispatcher at Kirtland AFB for over 20 years. Ray enjoyed doing stained glass and woodworking.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rio Rancho, NM. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
