In loving memory of Ramon Rael, husband, father, Pampo.
Ramon was born in Santa Fe, NM on Saturday, May 10, 1930 to Pilar and Manuelita Rael. He served in the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal and Bronze Star. He married Florinda Maes, his wife of 69 years on Wednesday, September 24, 1952 and together they raised their 6 children in Santa Fe, NM.
Ramon was preceded in death by his wife Florinda Rael; his parents Pilar and Manuelita; his son Anthony P. Rael; son-in-law Daniel Croker; sister Margarita (Maggie) Romero; and brothers, Frank Rael, Armando Rael, Florintino Rael, Alfredo Rael and Jose Rael.
He is survived by his children Raymond J. Rael (Rosalie), Virginia A. Escobar, Joyce R. Croker, Dora Rael, Dolores (Dee) Sanchez (Michael); and daughter-in-law Ramona Rael. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ramon is best remembered for his stubborn ways and his willingness to lend a hand anytime he was needed. He was constantly on the go creating projects for himself and others. As a father his strict manner prepared and assisted in maneuvering through the trials and joys of life for which he is truly appreciated. Thank you Dad, you are loved and will be missed.
Ramon will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
