It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Ramon "Ray" Lovato, who peacefully passed away on March 11, 2025 at the age of 84. A devoted husband he has now been reunited with his most beloved wife Lucy. A loving father, cherished grandfather and loyal friend, Ray leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
Ray, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His time on this earth was one of adventure, compassion, laughter and unwavering love for family and friends. His passing undoubtedly leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends. While tears of sadness will be shed, it is his wish that you always remember him for the life he lived, not the life that has ended, and instead shed tears of laughter.
Ray's passion for music, especially singing, was on display everywhere he went; a love that he so graciously passed on to his children and grandchildren. And lets not forget how much he loved watching wrestling and always being hopeful of getting lucky and winning big at the Casinos. Every Sunday, anyone looking for Ray knew where to find him, The American Legion Post 100, enjoying the company of his many friends and his favorite band, Carizma.
His commitment to helping people was a considerable part of who he was; if a vehicle was in need of repair, Christmas lights needed hanging or a home repair was needed, just call dad/grandpa/Ray. In his words "Hita, people are good, they just need a little help sometimes." Although Ray's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us and remind us to smile and simply be happy. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of grace and compassion in all that we do.
Ray is survived by his loving children, Angel, Annette, Eric Lovato and Gina Perez. His "Girls" (granddaughters) Victoria, Alex, Gabriella and Danielle. He also leaves behind his sister Linda and many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who shared in his joyful spirit. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Lovato, son Anthony Lovato and daughter Irene Hernandez.
