Ramon Encinias

March 28, 1942 — November 15, 2020

Ramon Encinias, age 78, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 15, 2020. Ramon was born March 28, 1942 in Pecos, NM to Fedencio and Vivanita Encinias.
He was a graduate of Santa Fe High School where he excelled at football for the Demons.

Ramon worked for the Santa Fe County Assessor's office in the eighties, later he worked for the state of New Mexico until he retired. Ramon enjoyed having coffee with his friends, spending time with his family, watching wrestling, dancing at the senior center, and going to the casino occasionally.

He is survived by his son, Flavio Encinias of Santa Fe; daughter, Joanna Hernandez (Tony) of Albuquerque. He also had four granddaughters, Savannah, Crystal, Laureen, and Faith, and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Anistacio Encinias of Denver; sister, Mary Ortiz (Claudio) of Nambe, and numerous nieces and nephews. He had several close friends, Carmen Baca, Roger Padilla, Willy Watkins, Phil Sanchez, Richard Gonzales, Jerry Romero, Joe Archuleta, and Robert Achoa, and numerous other friends and acquaintances.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fedencio and Vivanita; sisters, Rufina, Inez, Lucille, Juanita, Tessie, Esther, Kathy, Georgia; and brothers, Abel and Tony.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m., with Mass to follow at San Ysidro Catholic Church, 3552 Agua Fria St. Santa Fe, NM. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Roger Padilla, Willy Watkins, Phil Sanchez, Richard Gonzales, Jerry Romero, Joe Archuleta, and Robert Achoa.
