Ralph Rodriguez, Jr. passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Ralph was born in El Paso on October 25, 1917 and lived to be 100 years old. Ralph Rodriguez, Sr. and wife, Refugio (Fuentes) Rodriguez settled in Bernalillo with their family of 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls.
Ralph was a survivor of the Bataan Death March and has written several books. He was also a past National Commander for the Bataan Veterans Organization. After returning from the war, he went to business college, and later worked in the lumber industry at New Mexico Timber Co. located in Bernalillo.
He is survived by his eldest son, Ralph Rodriguez III and his wife, Pauline; daughter, Mona Lisa; and the youngest son, Charles Rodriguez and his wife, Lisa and children, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Xavier.
The Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. with the Eulogy starting at 6:30 p.m. at FRENCH – University. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 8, 2018, 9:00 a.m., at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 North Plaza NW in Old Town. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. The Reception will be at the National Guard Armory, 600 Wyoming Blvd NE, following the return from Santa Fe.
