Ralph "Wayne" Brown

Wayne, 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 after a brief illness. He is survived by his step-daughter, Barbara Garcia; step-son, Albert E Spisak; grandchildren, Danika Ann Nicole Spisak and Tessia Shawn Spisak; great-grandchild, Shane Ryder Cote; and sisters, Bonnie Caldwell, Evelyn Conn and Virginia Ballew. Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Ann F. Brown; parents, George Dewey Brown, Sr. and Bessie Estell Kuhn Brown Benson; step-father, Ray Benson; and brothers, Warren Brown and George D Brown, Jr. Wayne was born on January 21, 1937 in Marshall, MO, in Saline County. He served 20 years in the US Navy during the Korea and Vietnam Wars, receiving many commendations. Wayne worked for the State of NM for 15 years as a Building Maintenance Supervisor. He was life-long sports enthusiast and enjoyed competitive activities. Wayne was known as a handy-man and gardener, always willing to help with advice or care for a neighbor's needs. He was a husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him and will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Wayne's Life will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, 10:00 am at French - University, with visitation one hour prior from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Burial will follow with military honors at 1:30 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
