R. Lee Maxwell

Lee Maxwell, age 77, father, friend, and mentor, passed away September 9, 2017. Lee was known for his dedication to fitness and willingness to help others. He was an avid mountain climber, motorcyclist, bicyclist, master carpenter, and rugby player.

He is survived by his children, Michael Maxwell, Jeff Maxwell, Stuart Maxwell, Kelly Harrell, and Colleen Harrell; his grandchildren, Natalee Maxwell, Luke Maxwell, Kiera Gregory, MaKenna Maxwell, JJ Maxwell, Kinley Frey, and Lexi Frey; and one great-grandson, Greyson Gregory. Lee also leaves many cherished friends and colleagues that he touched.

A special thank you goes to Harold Field, Patz Sala, and Henry Pocock for their unselfish love and care given to Lee.

Lee helped found The Academy of Trades and Technology, atths.org, in Albuquerque, NM. He served on Youth Building Better Lives Council for four years, and then moved to Youth Build Trades and Technology Council to start the interim board on January 1, 2005. Lee also served as the Governing Board President from January 1, 2005 until February 19, 2009, and then served as the Vice President from February 19, 2009 until his resignation in April 2017.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, Lee’s family has requested a donation to The Academy of Trades and Technology, https://www.gofundme.com/lee-maxwell-memorial-fund.
