Quy Thong Bui, 78, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 5:00p.m. in his home surrounded by his family. Quy is survived by his mother (Hoa Thi Nguyen), siblings (Tue Thong Bui, Kha Thong Bui, Minh Thong Bui, Tuyet Thi Bui, Nga Thi Bui, and Thuy Kim Thi Bui), wife (Marianne Trinh), five children (Tony Bui, Duy Bui (Dela), Tram Romero (Chris), Chaffee Chavez (Steve), Cindy Paulus (Keith), 13 grandchildren (Timothy (MyMy), Taylor, Tristan, and Thomas Bui; Coco and Oreo Bui; Ashley, Kayla and Aiden Romero; Landon Chavez; Trey, Ella, and Oliver Paulus), and a great grandson (Miles Bui).
Quy was born in Hue, Vietnam and immigrated to the United States in 1975 following the Vietnam War where he served in the South Vietnamese Army. He received an associate degree in electrical engineering at Foothill College in San Jose, CA. He moved his family to New Mexico in 1988 where he worked and retired from Ethicon Johnson and Johnson Company. He enjoyed karaoke, dancing, fishing, traveling, music, and spending time with his family. Despite being diagnosed with Parkinson’s later in life, he continued to live to the fullest.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021, 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, 9:30 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE 87109.
