QUITERIA "KATIE" LUNAOf Albuquerque, born May 22, 1933, passed away on May 18, 2013. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Melcor Luna; her mother, Maria P. Lovato; father, Felipe Lovato; and brothers, Joe J. and Baltazar Lovato. She is survived by her daughter, Cabrini (Fred) Sanchez; sons, Andy (DeLane) Luna, Fred (Annette) Luna and Melcor Jr. (Suzanne) Luna. She also leaves behind sisters, Linda Benavidez and Berna Lovato; brothers, Pablo (Mary Ann), Martin, and Phillip (Vickie) Lovato. Nana will be missed by her grandchildren Chrystal, Pantaleon, Santiago, Ericka, Quiteria, Michelle, Senica, Jocelyn, Megan, Maria, Andrew, Monica and Margot; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Katie was a devoted wife and mother to her family and a loving part of many people's lives. Known for her tough love, she was well loved by many nieces, nephews and friends. Her home was always open to family and strangers alike. She worked to live her life by the gospel "Whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me." She lived a full life to the end. A rosary will be recited for her on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Church, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE. A funeral mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. with a reception after mass in the church gathering area. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
