Prudy was born on February 1, 1922. Surrounded by her family, she went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 16, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Crollett, and their son, Fred Crollett, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Richard Crollett and wife, Dolores; Robert Crollett and wife, Sue; and Garry Crollett; grandchildren Rob Merkin, Brian Merkin, Roxanne Crollett Rohde; Ronda Crollett; Deborah Crollett Sedillo; Marissa Crollett; Simon Crollett; Jordan Crollett and Cody Crollett; great-grandchildren, Mike Rohde, Todd Rohde, Lauren Rohde, Frederick Crollett-Casteñeda, Alexandra Campa, Sebastian Sedillo, Nico Sedillo, Sergio Sedillo, Molly Merkin, Caroline Merkin, John Merkin and Hannah Merkin; and, one great-great-grandchild, Maxton Rohde. Prudy especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and to care for them. All of her grandchildren have special memories of their time with her. Prudy also has numerous nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. She was extremely close to her niece, Michelle Adams.
Prudy is also survived by her beloved sisters and brother, Bette Phillips, Sadie Greenleaf, Gloria Smith, Veronica Griego and Ron Sandoval who were her constant companions. Veronica held a very special place in Prudy’s heart. Veronica visited Prudy several times a week taking her to church and to the movies and dinner most weekends with her other sisters. Preceding her in death were her sisters and brothers, Viola Armijo, Dorothy Salazar, Ty Sandoval and George Sandoval.
Over the years Prudy traveled the world visiting Mexico, Southeast Asia and Italy where she visited the Vatican. Her sons took her to Israel where she visited all of the Holy sites, stuck her toes in the Dead Sea, and to Jordan where she visited the ruins of Petra.
Prudy retired at the age of 85 from the Albuquerque Public School system where she worked for over 25 years as a special education teacher’s aide and substitute teacher’s aide at various elementary and preschools where she was known as “Grandma” to her students.
Prudy was a devout Catholic and a fiercely independent woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends may visit one hour prior to a Rosary Service will being recited on Sunday, July 23, 2017, 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 24, 2017, 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont St. NE in Albuquerque with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity or church of your choice in Prudy’s name.
