Priscilla Riggs, 63, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away at her home, into the arms of our Lord on January 12, 2018. She entered this world on February 10, 1954 in Las Vegas, NM, born to Malaquias and Lucy Brizal.
Upon graduation from Las Vegas Robertson HS, she proudly served in the US Army (1974-1976) where she met her future husband. After graduating from NMSU, she had a fulfilling career with the NM Education Department. Upon retirement, she began her true passion, caring for her granddaughters while their parents worked.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 42 years, Jeff Riggs; sons, Steve (Marlena) Riggs, Eric Riggs and friend, Thu Nguyen, and Emily; the loves of her life Aliana and Raelei Riggs; brothers, Jesus Brizal of Albuquerque and Gregory Brizal of Las Vegas; sisters, Maxine (Ralph) Gonzales of Las Vegas, Kathryn Brizal of Albuquerque, Elfeda (Robert) Rivas of Las Cruces, and Eugenia (Wilfred) Urioste of Pueblo; brother-in-law, Dave Riggs of Chicago and Craig Riggs of Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and her little friend, Jackson.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother of Las Vegas; sisters, Cannen Lou Brizal and Doris Silva of Alamogordo; nephews, Bryan Brizal and Paul Gonzales; great-nieces, Jacquelynn and Selena Gonzales, all of Las Vegas; mother-in-law, Yvonne Riggs of Cedar Falls IA; and brother-in-law, Brian Riggs of Cedar Falls IA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Rio Rancho in our Desert View Chapel.
