Poncianita Tapia

Poncianita Tapia “Anita” passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2019.  She was 80 years old, and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque.

She was retired from Mountain Bell after 35 years of service, she continued in the workforce for an additional nine years for Hinkle Law Offices.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Predicanda Sanchez and brother-in-law, Gilferd Pacheco.  Anita is survived by her son, Charles Tapia; daughter, Shelly Perea and husband, Kevin; her four grandchildren, Jeremy and his wife, Kassandra, Amaris, Denesha, and Jason and his wife, Julie Tapia; her brothers, Alfred and Nelda Sanchez, Tomas and Cathy Sanchez; and sister, Lucy Pacheco; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit beginning Friday, February 8, 2019, 7:30 a.m. up until the Rosary being recited at 8:15 a.m. and the Mass celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph’s Drive NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Sanchez, Shawn Sanchez, Randy Pacheco, Jason Tapia, Amaris Tapia, Denesha Tapia, and Honorary Pallbearers are Jeremy and Elijah Tapia.
