Pleasant Wright

d. December 26, 2021

Pleasant Wright, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt was called to her eternal resting place of peace on December 26th, 2021.

It was a fine day when she entered this world on April 3, 1942, in Bryn Mawr, PA, born to Patrick and Beverly FitzPatrick. At one time she could count her surviving family on one hand. She is now survived by her daughter, Maureen Jones; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: John P. Ryan and Kenneth T. Ryan, Megan Friggens, Merle Cummings, Joshua C. Jones; Jessica Aira; Chloe Aira; Dereck Jones; Joshua Jones; Deon Jones; Jacqueline Troy Jones; Vinessa Lollis; Abigail Friggens; Jake Friggens; Klarissa Cummings; Avery Cummings; Ayden Cummings.

Pleasant went to Carmel Community College in California, until she got married to Prescott Wright and had one child, Maureen. After her divorce a few years later, she was hit by a drunk driver, barely surviving, and being told she would not walk again by her doctor. She endured four months in the hospital recovering. As a testament to her bravery and strength, and a few surgeries later, she did walk again. The accident, having changed her course in life, motivated her to become an Artist. Both her mother and father had attended Art Students League in New York. They passed on their many talents to her. She and her mother and daughter moved to Steamboat Springs, CO to a Ranch, then to a farm in Northern Minnesota. After a tragedy occurred Pleasant and her mother moved to upstate New York, to raise her niece and nephew. From there they moved to Texas, then Washington state and then to Albuquerque, NM. She spent the next years of her life years raising her family and perfecting her artwork. She later bought land in Bosque, NM. She adored living on the Mesa with her dogs that she took in. Pleasant was absolutely an amazingly creative person; she could work in any medium and create something beautiful. She made gorgeous pottery bowls, sculptures, and jewelry. She often donated her work to charities. She also mastered fiber arts creating quilts, wall hangings, remembrance bears and clothing. She worked on her artwork until her last few days.

We loved her very much and she has left an empty space in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be done by the family at a later date.
