Pierre Bruce Burden

Pierre B. Burden finished his course and departed to his eternal home with the Lord on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the age of 63.

Pierre was employed at one time for the City of Albuquerque as a Sun Van driver. He also worked for Mega Corporation and Cauwels & Stuve Property Management Company. However, for the majority of his life, he enjoyed a career as a professional residential and commercial painter.

Pierre is preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Grace Burden; his brother, Marcus “Pablo” Burden; and sister, Camille Duncan. He leaves to cherish so many memories of his life with his loving wife and best friend, Cheryl; children, Beth Sanford, Ghatana Burden, Shapiera Johnson (husband, Ian), Bevo Smith, Pierre Smith, Sean Smith, Shaun Donald, and Bryceson Burden; in addition, Willie Banks (wife, Lee), Allen Banks (wife, Tammy), Kevin Banks (wife, Angela), and Janiece Taylor (husband Ron); grandchildren, Britini Burden, Justin Grier, Ian Johnson; nine additional grandchildren; siblings, Ava Gipson (husband, Jack), Myril Johnson (husband, James), Stephen Burden, Claudette Ballard (husband, Carlton), Bonnie Livingston (husband, Thomas), Russell Burden (wife, Liz), Jacqueline Butler (husband, Donald), Thaddeus Burden (wife, Renee), and Richard Burden; godmother, Mae Kern; aunt, Emma “Aunt Bun Bun” Pearson; uncle, Timothy Pettiford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Minister Pierre Burden was a loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to many.

Although he will be dearly missed he fought a good fight, he finished his course, and he kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7).

Home Going Services will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Church, 3601 Montgomery NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow the service at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
