Phyllis Orrick Keenan, 92, left this world to return to her Lord on June 21, 2016. In all aspects of her life, she was a true lady. She was the only child born to Clarence and Ester Orrick on April 3, 1924 in Sand Lake, Wisconsin. Growing up she spent her time between the Chicago suburb of Schiller Park, Illinois and her grandparents' homes in northern Wisconsin. After graduating from high school she moved to Albuquerque to attend UNM and earned her bachelor's degree in 1948. It was there that she met her future husband, TM "Mike" Keenan. Married in 1946, she and Mike made their home in Albuquerque where they raised their three children. While at UNM, she was an active member in the Chi Omega Sorority and continued to play an active role in the alumni association of the sorority for many decades after her graduation. Phyllis was a second grade school teacher at Cortez Elementary during the 1950's and was an integral part of her husband's business of Keenan and Associates for many years. She was generous in giving of her time to many organizations that were of interest to her. She was a member and past president of the Assistance League of Albuquerque, a member and past-president of the Albuquerque Opera Guild, docent at the Albuquerque Museum, and a member of the alter guild at both St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church and St. Chad's Episcopal Church.
