Phillip Salazar passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in his Albuquerque home, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Salazar was born on September 15, 1940 in Cuba, NM to Teofilo and Josephine Salazar. Shortly afterwards, his family moved to Albuquerque.
Phillip graduated from Albuquerque High School where he was on the golf team. After High School, he served in the Army as a Medic. While still in the Army, he married Patricia and they started their family.
Phillip retired from Bernalillo County after 23 years. Phillip loved playing golf and watching all sports. Another hobby of Phillip's was landscaping. He enjoyed working in his yard, planting and gardening.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 58 years of marriage, Patricia; five children, Joyce and husband, Christopher Martinez, Debra Akers, Karen and husband, Carl Lucero, Phillip II, and Kimberly and husband, Richard Trujillo; ten grandchildren, Ava, Jeremy, Kayla, Tricia, Joseph, Joshua, Evan, Braunwyn, Zaven and Brielle; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary and husband, Bob Rohlfs; and one brother, Lionel Salazar; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside.
