Phil Paster

April 16, 1920 — December 13, 2012

R. Phil Paster, age 92, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 13, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ramona Paster; his son, Jeffry Paster and partner, Shaw; his daughter, Helenne and her husband, John and two grandchildren; stepchildren, Anna Lee Jaramillo, John Naranjo and wife, Diane, Lucy Herrera and husband, Sam; and 25 step-grandchildren. Phil was born in the Bronx, New York and moved to Albuquerque in 1972. As a World War II veteran stationed in London, England, he was part of the "greatest generation." He was very proud of his military service in the United States Army, from October, 1941 to September, 1945 and during his last years often spoke about it. During his life time he worked briefly with the Social Security Department, he was a furrier, and he sold life insurance and mutual funds. He was owner of a windshield repair business, the first of its kind in Albuquerque, from which he retired. Phil was energetic and kind hearted. He was gregarious and would always rather talk about your interests and activities rather than his. A memorial service will be held at the Sunset Memorial Park on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will take place after the service at a different location to be announced at the service. The family wishes to thank the staff at Princeton Place and PACE Community for the care they provided Phil.
