Petra (Castrillo) Andazola

Petra Andazola, wife, sister, and above all mother, was taken by our Lord to that special place he reserved for her in his heart on December 9, 2017.  Born in Silver City, NM on March 11, 1932 in the middle of the great depression, she knew the hardships of poverty and learned to value faith, family, and friends above all.  She spent her life in service of her children, her precious sister, her wonderful husband, Manuel, and her beloved grandchildren.  She instilled in her children the bonds of family, the desire to become educated, responsible citizens, and the primacy of faith.  Tita, as her friends called her, never took for granted the majesty of the mountains and the splendor of sunsets.  She was first and foremost a mother and grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren fiercely with never ending encouragement, forgiveness, and affection.

She is survived by her husband, of 66 years, Manuel; her beloved sister, Teresa Castrillo; her children, Ron Andazola (Martha), Anna Harris (Mark), James Andazola (Theresa), Michael Andazola (Bernice), Judy Baca (Jim), Camille Anaya (Greg); her grandchildren, Matthew Andazola, Marissa Benson (Barry), Josh Andazola, Alex Andazola, Lucas Andazola, Aaron Andazola, Adam Baca, Ashley Baca, Breanna Baca, Allyson Anaya, and Chloe Anaya.

Rosary will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Rio Rancho. Mass will be Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Road NE Rio Rancho, NM. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park Cemetery, 4310 Sara Rd SE Rio Rancho, NM. A reception will be held at the Inn at Rio Rancho at 1465 Rio Rancho, NM 87124 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m immediately following the interment.
