Peter Michael Cogen

Peter Michael Cogen passed away peacefully in Albuquerque on August 14th at the age of 69. Born in Hamilton, Ohio in 1945; he resided in Miami, Florida until 1977. After earning his undergraduate degree in history and his law degree from the University of Miami, he practiced law and volunteered with the ACLU until he moved to New Mexico. A general contractor, he owned Rio Vista Homes and Cogen & Associates Real Estate from 1977 until his retirement in 1998. After retirement, he also resided in Telluride, Colorado. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 48 years Francine; daughter Jennifer; son Andrew; grandchildren Isabel, Max, Owen, Lila; and sister Linda. He is also survived by son-in-law Joshua and daughter-in-law Allison. The family will be having a celebration of his life at a private residence. In honor of his memory, the family asks that contributions be made to the National Stroke Association or Habitat for Humanity.
