The family moved to New Mexico in 1959, where Peggy attended Lowell Elementary School, John Adams and Washington middle schools, and Rio Grande High School. While in Albuquerque, her family were members at Antioch Baptist Church where Peggy was baptized. Peggy would later become a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Macedonia Baptist Church, and Phillips Chapel CME Church. She later moved to Denver Colorado in the summer of 1977 and worked at Coors Porcelain Plant. She eventually moved back to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she and Charles Harris married on Saturday, July 3, 1982. While in Albuquerque, she worked for Heritage health care for many years before retiring. That is when she began caring for her great-grandchildren Jada and Kenneth Gibson, and Emmery Davis who meant the world to her.

Peggy had a passion for collecting figurines, antique dolls, and many other items of all sorts. She enjoyed shopping, interior decorating, and she loved socializing with friends and family. She was an extremely giving person with a big heart who always had her eye out for what she could gift to others. One of her favorite pastimes was reminiscing with friends and family about her childhood and the way things used to be. Peggy loved the Lord and always instilled strong Christian morals and values into her children and grandchildren. She touched so many lives and hearts while she was with us and she will be greatly missed.
