Pearline Gloria MacKaron was born on January 31, 1949 and passed on to a greater glory on February 7, 2025. She lived a full life of faithfulness, love, optimism and genuine creativity.
Her maid surname was Tafoya, and she grew up in the South Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. A devoted Roman Catholic, Pearline attended the University of New Mexico where she graduated with a major in English and a minor in Drama. She was an accomplished musician and taught English for the Albuquerque Public Schools, beginning her career at Taft Junior High and completing her 28-year career with 22 years at Highland High School.
Throughout her life, she touched and inspired so many people. Even as she endured many physical and medical challenges with a rare bravery and grace, she always showed more concern for others than for herself. Pearline is succeeded by her husband Melvin (Mel) MacKaron of more than 52 years, her brother Harry Tafoya, and the two biggest joys of her life: her daughter, Erissa, and her granddaughter, Bailey. She treasured many lifelong friends and family members, including her beloved son-in-law, Sean Curry.
In Pearline's memory, a rosary will be held at FRENCH's Wyoming location on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 5:00. Funeral services will be at Our Lady of the Annunciation, 2621 Vermont St. NE, the following day at 10:30 a.m. with reception to follow.
