Pauline Lovie Zemke

Pauline Lovie Zemke, of Albuquerque was called to the Lord on May 13, 2018 with her family at her side.  Pauline was born March 16, 1932 to James E. and Clara H. Castle in Pueblo Colorado and has lived in Albuquerque since she was 12 years old.  She attended Manzano Day School, Jefferson Junior High School and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1950.  Then went on to attend the University of New Mexico.

Pauline was a member of the Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority, Junior League, Albuquerque Country Club and belonged to the Church of Christ.  She loved traveling, fishing, and renovating properties.  Always up for a good adventure and ready to go.  She loved her cats, horses and her beloved dogs, Fritzie and Lola who were always by her side.

She was truly the matriarch of our family and will be remembered as a selfless giver to her family and anyone she met.

Pauline is preceded in death by her two husbands, Richard E. Hyder from 1951 to 1984 and, Francis Richard Zemke from 1990 to 2011 and her two sisters, Margaret Hamilton and Mary McKee. She is survived by her children, Rick Hyder, Gary Hyder, Richard Zemke and wife, Kater, David Zemke and wife, Gail, and Linda Zemke all of Albuquerque. Grandchildren, Garrick Hyder of Santa Barbara, CA, Haley Hyder, Christina Cruz, Justin Zemke, Sean Zemke; niece, Marion Meigs and sister-in-law, Josala Fetherolf all of Albuquerque and Ruth Fletcher of Nevada City, CA .

A Funeral Service for Pauline will be held on Friday, May 18, at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH – University, with a viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Albuquerque Animal Humane Society at animal humanenm.org or the Church of Christ Christian Children’s Home at church-ofchrist.org/children.
