Paula Michelle Webb

This world lost a good, gentle, and holy soul on Friday, April 22, 2016, when Paula M. Webb took her last breath on this earth and her first breath in heaven.
Paula was many things: the seventh of seven siblings... a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt... and undisputedly one of the apples of her family's eye. Loyal and dutiful, Paula served as the primary companion and caretaker for her parents, ensuring that the last seasons of their lives were as rich and safe and comfortable as they could be. In that role, Paula became the hub of a far-flung family and served brilliantly as the clearinghouse through which all news flowed. Empathetic, patient, and sincere, Paula invariably left those with whom she spent any time feeling better about themselves and their life's circumstances. Quick with a joke and even quicker with a compliment, Paula softened the sharp edges that all too often prevail in human relations. And the love and devotion she showed her family were matched only by that which she showered on her canine "children," Chauncey, George, Gracie, Boo, and Gretel.
Though she struggled for years with a litany of serious health maladies, Paula never complained. Instead, she bore her cross of daily suffering with grace, dignity, and forbearance that were almost biblical in dimension. Though her body frequently failed her and sentenced her to a quality of life most would consider constant misery, Paula was unfailingly grateful for the gift that she perceived every day to be. What wonderful lessons she taught those of us fortunate to have witnessed them.
In keeping with the devout Roman Catholic faith that comforted her throughout her life and especially in her prolonged decline, Paula looked forward to being reunited with her parents, James R. Webb, Jr. and Mildred Webb; her sister, Winifred A. Blount; and her brother, Gregory R. Webb. She leaves behind for now her brother, James R. Webb, III (Diana); her sisters, Judith M. Webb, Sr. Gretchen Webb, IHM, and Roberta S. Ruth (Dean); her canine "daughter," Gretel, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who have simply become too numerous to list.
A rosary service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas, with viewing beginning at 6:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona St., SE, with burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith, NE.
At Paula's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 610 W. Elm Ave., Monroe, MI 48162-7909.
