Paula Mirella Chacon

Paula Chacon, age 60, beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, and aunt was called to her eternal resting place with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on surrounded by her loved one's Saturday, May 4, 2019.

She entered this world on February 13, 1959 in La Piedad, Michoacan, Mexico, born to Cira and Paulo Rivera. She made Albuquerque her home after marrying her husband, Alvino Chacon in Los Angeles on December 26, 2003.

Throughout her long battle with cancer, she always managed to stay positive and could be found with a smile on her face. Paula was a very creative person, she could be found painting, coloring, or making her ceramic roses. Some of her other hobbies included volunteering the Comadre a Comadre Center, cooking, and singing. Paula had a love for butterflies, orchids, bamboos (and plants in general), which all filled her home beautifully.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paulo and Cira Rivera, sisters, Margarita and Theresa.

Paula is survived by her husband, Alvino Chacon; daughters, Mayra Soto, Karla Soto, Shellie Chacon, and Grace Chacon; siblings, Godeleba Torres, brother-in-law, Javier Torres; Alberto Rivera, Maria Paz Rivera, Josefina Rivera, Lourdes Rivera, Luis Francisco Rivera; sister-in-law, Ana Rivera; Remedios Rivera; and Maria Concepcion Rivera.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, 11:00 a.m. with a Rosary to follow at 11:30 a.m. and a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Westside. Please come as you are to celebrate the life of a wonderful person. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park at 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
