Paul Viviani, age 88, was born in Albuquerque on April 18, 1927, and died on November 23, 2015.
Preceded in death by his parents, Aladino and Yolanda Santori Viviani; his brother, Henry J. Viviani; and two nephews, Henry J. Viviani Jr. and Richard Viviani.
After graduating from Albuquerque High, Paul entered the military, serving in the United States Army Signal Corps in Italy during WWII. Upon returning home, he operated Viviani's Grocery on North 7th Street for many years. He continued to work in retail sales until his retirement.
Paul loved his family, and the great state of New Mexico. He enjoyed cooking, growing the best tomatoes, fishing, hunting, and talking about his adventures growing up in Albuquerque and all the changes he'd seen in his 88 years. His generosity of spirit will be missed by many including the untold generations of birds he fed.
He is survived by his children, Susan Ng, Nancy Viviani , Steven Viviani and wife Lisa, and David Viviani, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Anna Machemehl, 1 niece, 3 nephews, 4 great nephews, and a great niece.
A memorial service will be held December 12 at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University, 1111 University Boulevard N.E.
