It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Paul Vigil, on January 30, 2025. Born on June 13, 1936, Paul led a full and fulfilling life as a devout Catholic and a man well respected in his family and community. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mary Vigil, their daughters Beverley Vigil, Valerie Vigil and Kay Withers, as well as his grandson, Grant Withers. He now joins his son, Ray Vigil, in eternal rest.
In 1957, Paul began setting down his own roots when he married Mary Vigil, and the pair began their beautiful family the following year. They were blessed with three incredible daughters and a son, each of whom filled their home with boundless joy and love.
As a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit, in 1959, Paul opened Anthony's Upholstery Shop. Even as the family relocated to Daly City, California, in 1968 and Paul successfully launched the Parking Company of America, his connection to his upholstery business remained strong. Upon their return to New Mexico in 1972, Paul reopened Anthony's Upholstery Shop with renewed vigor.
In 1983, while managing his upholstery shop and parking business, Paul showcased his relentless drive for success by acquiring a real estate license. For 25 years, he sold real estate, ultimately retiring from his career at Roger Cox and Associates in 2018. His passion for entrepreneurship and his astute business acumen remain as some of his significant accomplishments.
Throughout his life, Paul found pleasure in simple delights. He was particularly fond of beans and chile with tortillas. His favorite television shows were Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune while his preferred movies were Old Westerns. An ardent supporter of the Golden State Warriors, Paul also enjoyed golfing and casino visits. He found solace in being a regular walker and enjoyed vacationing in Vegas. His favorite colors were white and blue, just like his personality - charming yet stoic.
An accomplished golfer, Paul has many local tournament wins under his belt. However, his most significant achievement was being an extraordinary entrepreneur. Furthermore, he leaves behind a legacy of resilience, urging everyone to go to church, be a good citizen, and never give up. His life serves as a stirring testament to his character, grit, and love for his family, leaving an indelible mark on all who were privileged to know him.
