Paul A. Pino, age 85, a resident of Albuquerque for 67 years, died at home on Tuesday October 27, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Esther; children, Maggie Karnes and husband, Robert, Theresa Montano, Carol Baca and husband, Cliff, Cynthia Vazquez and husband, David; twelve grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Aragon and husband, Roy; brothers, Louis Pino and wife, MaryEllen, Sam Pino, and Jim Pino and wife, Helen; and numerous other relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his son, Tony Pino on July 31, 2015; parents, Antonio and Louisa Pino; siblings, Salvador Pino, Esther Gomez and husband, Bacilio, Josephine Biggs and husband, Terry, and Beulah Aragon. He was born in 1929 in Magdalena, NM and graduated from Magdalena High School. After graduation he was drafted into the United States Army where he proudly served. He married Esther Baca in 1954 and they began to raise their family. Paul worked for Mulcahey Sporting Goods for 17 years before going to work for APS where he administered the Title 1 Program for 27 years until his retirement. He was an avid hand ball player, playing up until April of this year at Midtown Sports and Wellness. Paul loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Parrish for 61 years. Paul was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed, along with his stories, by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment will take place with military honors at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
