Paul Jeffery Moore

Paul Jeffery Moore 60 years old of Carlsbad, NM, passed away on May 19th 2014, after his recent battle with Valley Fever. Paul was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 7th, 1954. He graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute and continued on to receive a bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, in Socorro 1984 in addition to an MBA from Western New Mexico University. Paul was married to Brenda Cassady on February 7th, 1976 in Socorro, New Mexico; they were married 38 years. A dedicated miner, Paul worked for various precious metal mining operations. The majority of his work experience was in open pit surface operations in NM and AZ. Paul recently worked for Intrepid Potash Carlsbad. He enjoyed constructing and flying RC Airplanes, as well as building Hot Rods, Harleys, and his experimental Zenith Aircraft. As a Mine Engineer Paul had gold fever and was an experienced gold prospector, as well as the ultimate gold panning instructor. Paul was an avid hunter and fishermen he was also actively involved in the Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Foundation, where he raised awareness for this rare genetic disorder. Paul is survived by his wife Brenda, his son Joshua Moore, daughters Jaime Falcon and Katelyn Moore, grandchildren Kasia'h, Ireland, and Liv, his father Carl Franklin Moore Jr., his brother Michael Moore, one sister Karla Moore, nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends. Paul is preceded in death by his mother Alice Pauline Moore, January 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be gifted to, Brenda Moore 1108 East Fiesta Drive Carlsbad New Mexico 88220. The Family of Paul J Moore would like to thank the Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Foundation, the University of New Mexico Hospital and the Valley Fever Center of Excellence at University of Arizona. A celebration of life will be held for Paul on his birthday, Feb 7th, 2015 in Socorro, New Mexico where he was raised. All friends and family are more than welcome to attend.
