In Loving Memory
Patsy Irene Johnson
September 27, 1939 - September 8, 2021
Patsy I. Johnson (Pat) passed away on September 8, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM after a long illness.
Pat was born in Weed, NM on September 27,1939 to Ruby and James Massey. She enjoyed being part of a large and loving family which included two sisters and six brothers. Pat moved to Albuquerque NM in 1956 with her first husband Jewell Adkison where they began a family which would eventually include 4 Children. As a single mother Pat worked diligently to provide for her children while teaching them hard work is often necessary to provide for your needs. Pat married Bob Johnson in 1973. Pat and Bob continued to raise her four children along with nurturing 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren until his passing in 2019.
Pat's joy in life was always family and after becoming a mother, to the first of four children, that sentiment only deepened. She believed in generosity for anyone in need. She was always quick to offer comfort and support, not only to her family, but everyone she encountered along her journey through life. Her kind and generous nature has been passed on through the many loving friendships she made; as well as, through the multigenerational family she created, whose hearts will always hold her memory and spirit close.
Pat is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Sherry and Louis Abraham, Sharon and John Riccon, Carol and Jimmy Perez, daughter-in-law Vivian Adkison, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, her youngest brother Jerry and his wife Debbie Massey, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Pat joins those in heaven who preceded her in passing, her loving husband Robert Johnson, son Michael Adkison, grandson Robert Carter, parents James and Ruby Massey, 2 sisters Maxine Clark and Marilyn Adkison and 5 brothers, Benny Wilson, Joe Massey, Sonny Massey, Tom Massey and Dave Massey.
Pat touched the lives of a great many people. Her kind, thoughtful and caring disposition were just a few of the many things that made her special throughout her life. The love and compassion along with her winning smile that she freely gave to so many will remain her legacy long after her time on earth.
