Patricia "Pat" Pertner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was called to Heaven suddenly on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the age of 71.
She was born to Frank and Margaret Madrid on November 10, 1949. Shortly after graduating from high school, she married the love of her life and soulmate, Gerald Pertner. She's survived by her husband of 53 years; her brother, James Madrid (Rita); three, sons Shaun (Renee), Jacob (Andrea), and Nicholas; and five grandchildren, Ashley, Angelique, Adriana, Andres, and Ayden.
Pat's love for life was shown in all that she did. She was a dedicated educational assistant for 26 years at Montezuma Elementary school, where she continued to volunteer after she retired. She loved to spend time with family and friends. Her love for adventure was evident in all she did whether it be traveling across country with her friends or quaint camping trips with her husband. Pat was truly a spirit that could not be tamed. Her laughter will be missed by all that knew her.
A celebration of Pat's life will begin Thursday, August 19, 2021, 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary at FRENCH-University, followed by a reception at the Prestige Event Center (2019 5th St. NW, 87102). A Mass will be held in her honor on Friday, August 20, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE
