Patricia Hunt Love

August 15, 1956 — April 10, 2023

Our mother loved a good poem. She composed poems for those she loved throughout her life. Knowing her final goodbye simply had to be in verse form, we, her three children, composed the following ballad, a brief epic if you will, for our mother lovingly titled, Patti with an I.
Patricia Hunt Love, mother, daughter and friend, interweaving memories, love, and music to the very end.

On Easter Monday the 10th of April 2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with the love of family and friends steadfast - surrounded by her children and grandchildren - Patti decided she must go.
Born on August 15th, 1956, Robert Vernon Hunt and Jeanene Dolores Hunt nee Swaner, her father and mother, both were waiting for her to join them in heaven to share God's love, no longer set apart from each other.
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to El Paso, Texas her family moved, graduated from Coronado High School - where eventually the love of Thomas Patrick Love, Jr. aka "Tommy" she soon proved.
After years of love and family growing, many moves, and U-Haul's driven, Tommy passed, enduring hardships and memories far distant, to find his peace, God given.
Patti goes to meet with him in the promised place, they are now together again in God's perfect grace.
Moving back to where it all began, and following her love of education, she found her calling at The University of New Mexico, helping students without hesitation.
Patti was one of sisters three, all shared similar traits, dressed to the T, and learned their mother's beautiful handwriting.

Her sister Kathy Ross had gone on ahead and also had to wait, to welcome Patti through the pearly gate. Her sister Cindy Henry is survived and will live on to remember, the memories they share like a warm burning ember.
Patti's cherub children, Sara, Randy and Brian, also are survived. The constant and ever-present love for their mother none could deprive.
Also survived by two beautiful granddaughters. The newest brightest and shiniest is Patti's favorite Penny, Penelope. While only having a brief time to meet, she was loved oh so dearly - absolutely and completely.
The first granddaughter, Olivia, Patti called her favorite Cookie. In return, when Olivia learned to spell, announced Patti aka Nana as her favorite, Ba-Nana. Banana and Cookie spun tales of time spent together and after their adventures Banana often would proclaim "And then she dances".

Patti, we are sure, would want you to know her message of tolerance and acceptance of others through her love of plaid, which you see, was her favorite color.
As written in her infamous poem titled "Plaid" - no matter religion, politics, or other division, if we could only put aside our differences the world would see ourselves blended like a beautiful tartan and "Could that, would that, create a forever more peaceful world".
Oh, dearest mother, precious sister, and beloved friend - we will miss you every single day. Since you were and always will be our Patti Poppins - practically perfect in every way!
