Patricia Cox Etmer passed away peacefully in her home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, April 17, 2024, at the age of 87.
She was born in Denver, Colorado, and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, a few years after her marriage to Robert Etmer (now deceased). She worked mainly as a legal secretary until she retired.
As a devout and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, she taught many classes for children and for women of the Church, and volunteered many years in the Mormon temple in Albuquerque from it’s opening - work which she loved doing.
She took oil painting classes which proved that she had great natural artistic talent. Also, she took guitar classes for a short time.
She was preceded in death by her parents Virgil Cox and Vera Almgren, and younger sister Barbara Eby.
She is survived by sister Judy Palmer, children Randy Etmer (Cindy)-Albq.NM, Raylene Jorgenson (Ken)-AF.UT, Russell Etmer-Denver CO,and Rodney Etmer-Rio Rancho NM.
Also, grandchildren: Mandi Braithwaite, Jessica Etmer, Brian Watson, Jill Blanchard (Richard), and Jeremy Etmer (Melissa). Also, great grandchildren: Jaxon, Katelyn, Clark, Lydia, Candis, Maddie, and Charlotte.
A fun, loving, and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, she will be greatly missed.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building at 2807 Cabazon Blvd., Rio Rancho, NM.
Interment will follow, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque at 2:00 p.m.
