Patricia Jerre (O'Brien) Cole

Patricia Jerre (O'Brien) Cole , age 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at home with her family, due to the effects related to Dementia. She was born on April 17, 1941 in Clovis, New Mexico to Elvie (Jerre) Pauline Wooten and Jack Clarence O’Brien. She was the oldest of two children. Growing up she was an enthusiastic and excellent student and loved reading. After much seeking for an understanding of God, on October 4, 1957, she made the decision to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was her passion and influenced everything she did in life. She sacrificed many hours of her life serving the membership of her church, her family, her friends, and all who she came in contact with. She met Jerold Nelson Cole at a church dance. After a loving courtship they decided they wanted to be dance partners for Eternity. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 27, 1959. This union was blessed with four children. “Mama” spent her life giving love to her children and her subsequent grandchildren and great-grandchildren. From 2003-2006 Patricia and Jerold served in the LDS Albuquerque Temple presidency. They were also excited to serve a Temple Mission to the Nauvoo, Illinois LDS temple during the summer of 2007. Patricia's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will always remember her devotion to her Faith, how much she loved playing with them, giving them unconditional love, and sharing her love of nature.

Patti was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Brian Cole, her parents Jack and Elvie, and her brother Michael O’Brien. She is survived by her husband, Jerold Cole, and children, Lauri Cole Drean (spouse Robert), David Cole (spouse Roberta), and Paula Cole Mortensen (spouse Shawn), 24 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held Tuesday July 3, 2018 from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Montano Chapel, 1100 Montano NW, 87107.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Interment after at Sunset Memorial Park.
