Patricia Anne (Boggess) Blair

January 29, 1940 — October 13, 2022

Patricia Anne (Boggess) Blair, passed away on October 13, 2022. Pat was born on January 29, 1940, in Dallas, Texas. Her father was in the Border Patrol and was transferred to San Francisco when Pat was seven years old. She grew up in San Mateo, California, and went to Hillsdale High School. After high school she graduated from the University of California at Davis, with a degree in Home Economics. She also received a California teaching credential. Pat married Howard G. Blair and moved to Quantico, VA with him while he was in Marine Corps training. She moved home with her parents and taught school while Howard was in Okinawa and Vietnam. After the military, Howard joined Caterpillar Tractor Co. and with their new son, they moved to Peoria, Illinois. Later they were transferred to Europe, and their second son was born in Munich. While in Europe Pat traveled extensively and enhanced her cooking skills by attending a French cooking school in Geneva, Switzerland. After five and a half years in Europe, the family was sent to Cleveland, Ohio where Pat not only was a mother and housewife, but also taught French cooking. She, along with her husband, renewed their interest in American Brilliant Cut Glass. A few years later Pat was elected to the board of the American Cut Glass Association, only to become president a few years later. In 1978 the family moved to Camarillo, CA. Pat was elected to the U. C. Davis Alumni Board and served on that board for four years. She also was awarded Outstanding Contribution in Homemaking by the Ventura County Commission for Women. One of her other interests was getting active in the Daughters of the American Revolution. She held several positions in the local chapters and was Regent (president) in two chapters, one in California and one in our current area, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and William F Boggess Jr. She is survived by her husband of over sixty years, Howard G Blair; her two sons Wade and Clay Blair; and eight grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 19, 2022, at FRENCH-Wyoming. To view the service online click HERE or you can also scroll down the page to the service listing.
