Patricia Louise (Hardy) Allen

July 3, 1930 — April 8, 2021

Patricia (Pat) Louise Allen was born on Thursday, July 3, 1930 in Carman, Manitoba, Canada to Vivian and Gertrude Hardy. She had three siblings, Bill, Vivian and June.

She completed her education in nursing. Shortly after graduating she saw an advertisement to provide nursing services in the "logging camps of Arizona." Borrowing $150 from her father, she left Canada on a train and moved to McNary, Arizona where she began working at a small local hospital. Shortly after having gotten established, she went to a bar for refreshments with other nurses from the same hospital. It was there that a handsome, somewhat cocky fellow who worked for the very logging camps she had read about, was introduced to her. Later that night, Theodore Roosevelt Allen (Ted) returned to the table, held out his hand and said, "let's see if this Canadian can dance." And she could.

Two months later, with little money, they were married. Their first daughter, Mila arrived a year and a half later. Mila was soon followed by a brother, Hardy; sister, Alysia; sister, Marcy; and finally, another brother, Matt. She had five children in seven years!

Ted and Pat moved to New Mexico in 1965 and started a successful wood moulding plant. Although having been recreated into a new business, it is still operational today. When younger she enjoyed playing tennis, singing, painting, and fishing. She truly loved painting, and many of her works of art hang in homes all over New Mexico, other parts of the US, and Canada.

Ted passed away in 2003. Pat, following a long struggle with dementia, passed away at 8:34 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the age of 90. Reunited with her husband, the family is sure they are smiling down upon them, rejoicing in what they created. Pat is survived by sister, June; daughters, Mila and husband, Tom Pounds, Alysia and husband, Modesto Camilli, and Marcy and husband, Paul Infanti; brothers, Hardy and wife, Tami Allen and Matt and wife, Renee Moleres-Allen; sixteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Pat was known as being sweet, classy, and kind. She was beautiful inside and out and will be missed by all.
