Age 88, born in the Pan Handle of Oklahoma on a ranch near the Texas border to David F. Brinkley and Hazel Marie Murphy Brinkley. He passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. The fourth of five children, Pat was preceded in death by his parents; older brother, Thomas Ace, Tom's wife, Alice and older sister, Frankie Marie. Survivors include Dorothy, his wife of 64 years, whom he dearly loved; children, Daniel Ace Brinkley, Patricia Gayle Brinkley, Cheryl Andrea Brinkley, and Lonnie Dee Brinkley; two grandsons, Shane Kurtis and Cole Thomas Brinkley; and five great-grand children; two sisters, Lettie Alice Braudt and Vay Bruno; one brother-in-law Rex Bosshart; and many cousins, nieces and nephews scattered all over the U.S. Pat worked at Sandia National Lab until his retirement in 1990. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 16, at 10:00 a.m. at French-University Chapel followed by interment in the family plot in the Estancia Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. with full military honors.
