P.R. (Bob) Garcia, 80, husband, father, grand-father, and great-grandfather went to be with our Lord in heaven on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Bob was a great provider, loved his wife, family, and friends. He loved to fish, spend time at the cabin that he and his wife built, work on his house, watch movies, and spend time with his church friends. He also spent a lot of time researching family genealogy; in fact, he was an officer at the Hispanic Genealogy society. He knew how to build and fix most anything. If he didn't know how to do it, he learned. He was a retired electrical engineer from EG&G, a national defense contractor.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Paulin; his son Russell and wife Carla; their children Stephen and wife Kelsi, Kayce Carter and husband Derek, and Kristin Wagner; and his daughter Yvonne; her son Kevin Anderson and wife, Mara. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren; Brielle, Tyler, Morgan Dee, Lexi, and Gavin. He is also survived by his sisters; Mary Helen Garcia, Evangeline and husband Tom Copeland, and sister-in-law Joyce Garcia. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Feliz Garcia and brother Joseph (Pepper) Garcia.
A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Drive NE.
